The Coimbatore Club was primarily a destination for the planters working in many of the scenic tea and coffee estates in the mountains that surround Coimbatore. It started with 31 members all of whom were only British as it was with all Colonial Clubs. The first Indian member was admitted in 1961 and since then the membership has swelled, encompassing a cosmopolitan set of members. The Coimbatore Club has grown to provide outstanding facilities for its members, their families, and guests.
The facilities at the Club include Chambers with 15 comfortable and clean rooms, sports facilities such as tennis courts, swimming pool, and billards/snooker and multiple banquet areas. The Club has a Bar with excellent choice of liquor and a-la carte dining for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
